A couple of weeks ago I visited the Tareq Rajab Museum in Jabriya. I've been hearing about it for a long time now but have always postponed visiting this place. On a recent trip to Dubai I read about Mr. Rajab and his love for collecting artifacts and how it grew into this massive collection. The article sparked my interest and I decided to visit it as soon as I got a day off.
Its not that difficult to find , its in the same block as the Iranian School and New English School. Photography is strictly prohibited so the only picture I have is of the front entrance, but believe me you have to see it for yourself ! To think that an individual could painstakingly create such a huge collection boggles the mind ! There are many priceless antiques neatly labled and displayed in the various sections that include jewellery, traditional costumes, artwork, pottery and my favorite; weapons.
If you stay in Kuwait a visit to this museum is a must !

I also found out that they have another museum dedicated to Islamic Calligraphy. Thats a visit for another day Inshallah.

Wooo HOOO on you! You found one of Kuwait's treasures. Here is what blows me away - they collect these priceless objects, display them, and then invite the public in - for FREE. They pay for the displays, they pay for the guards - they GIVE this to the public as a public service.
Friday mornings are a great time to visit the Calligraphy museum. Give yourself enough time to watch the entire movie (we have watched it three times and learn something new every time.)

Yeah its a treasure alright ! I'm surprised not many people know about this place and entry is free ! i wouldn't mind going again.
