I saw this in a toy shop on a visit to India recently. My generation didn't have a toy pussy to pull along when we were youngsters. Lucky kids. ;)

Desktop Photography and Action Figures

One of my favorite kinds of photography is Desktop Photography. This is where you place the subject on a desktop and shoot in close range. The advantage of this technique is that you have complete control over the environment and can play with the light, exposure and focusing till you get the desired results. My second favorite is collecting action figures so now I've combined both !

I haven't had much time to indulge in this pastime lately but I did shoot some quick ones recently and they came out nicely.

They're not toys!

"They're not toys!" is what I usually say in my defense when my parents/wife accuses me of 'playing' my anime scale models. Yes I have a collection of action figures and robot models, but hey! they're collector's items and I like to photograph them.

There are thousands of people out there like me who like to collect and display their prized collections for all the world to see. Kids from my generation grew up watching shows like Mazinjer, Grendizer, Thundercats, Voltron and many other great shows ! It gives me a warm nostalgic feeling when I see the figures my brother and I collected in the 80's. We currently have a good amount of them.. GI Joes, Thundercats, Batman, Gundams etc. And once again I'd like to say...
They're not toys!! :)

Hobby Link Japan

I had ordered some items from a Japanese hobby website around a week ago and was eagerly expecting delivery sometime before the end of the week. Imagine my surprise when I got a call from the EMS delivery counter that my package from Japan had arrived!

For those of you not familiar with ordering from Hobby Link Japan, heres what happens;

1. Check out the (drool worthy) items on HLJ
2. Add items to your shopping cart.
3. Fill out the personal information form and payment details.
4. Select EMS delivery instead of SAL (thank you Mishari)
5. Patiently wait for delivery
6. You get a call/SMS from MOC Kuwait, asking you to pick up your package.
7. Head to MOC Office in Keifan and get your package
8. Go straight home and go nuts !!!! :)

Spidey stuff

Well its officially Spider-fever time and it seems to be really infectious this time when you look at all the Spidey products out there . I found two such products today; one based on the classic 'Mr. PotatoHead' toy and the other on RoboSapien.
